And that he did. Internationally celebrated DJ and music producer Nkosinathi Maphumulo, otherwise known as Black Coffee, performed a sixty-hour long DJing set all in the name of raising funds for the DJ Black Coffee Foundation, a non profit organisation that assists physically challenged individuals across the country.

Soweto literally came to a standstill. The event was held at Maponya Mall from Thursday 23 September to Sunday 26 September and if you had planned to do your shopping on that weekend, you would have had a tough time just getting into the mall. His fans were there with him in every beat and every mix. His colleagues and friends; Oskido, DJ Phobia, DJ Fresh, Teargas, Phiwe, Thandiswa Mazwai, Zakes Bantwini, Zano, Shana, Tumelo, Busie, Theo, Nkwe, Khabila, Shimza and Zonke had his back till the end.

Playing 60hrs with one hand is no child’s play; it’s no wonder why the likes of Louie Vega worship him. Now, his name is amongst the world record breakers. Next time you page through the Guiness World Record book don’t be surprised when you come across Black Coffee’s name. All I can say is that I’ve got HUGE respect for Black Coffee, what he did shows that nothing is impossible in life. You just have to do it!
